TYC 621220 Cherokee Replacement Condenser Review

Looks like it came from the factory in my 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo but doesn't come with a fan gearbox like I thought it would.

This is a very well made part, almost identical to the factory fan on my wife's 2006 Commander (3.7 liter V6 engine). The installation is quite easy. The only thing to note is that the portion of the wiring harness that attaches to the fairing must be transferred to the new unit.

Not sure if the fan is good or not, if your jeep is missing a resistor then you need to buy an expensive part. but they sell the same fan for the Jeep where you don't need the resistor and it's only $50 more expensive than the $110 resistor part I need right now. I hope this helps someone save time and money

Only 4-10mm screws and an electrical plug hold this. I had to remove the battery retaining plate. Bolts 3 - 10mm. Do you also need to remove and reinstall the metal bracket for the temporary module? Also a 10mm screw. The new one is available. Works fantastic!

works well so far. 06 Commander v6. A year ago I replaced another one (from another company) but it failed. I recommend jacking up the front and using the disassembly and swap stands through the bottom rather than the top. This way you don't have to remove the hoses. Only 4 screws! Ps. This doesn't come with a ceramic resistor so you'll have to use the old one with the bracket. Install the old bracket and resistor before installing the fan to make things easier.

The item was a reasonable fit but did not include the housing or the correct mounting holes for the resistor mounting that were on the original fan assembly on my 2010 WK. This forced me to convert the engine from the new assembly to the old one as this is my only car and I didn't want to run without a fan. This item was said to be OE compatible. Yes, only if you dangle the resistor on the side of the fan, open to all elements. It might fit 2005-2007 WK but not 2010 and seller needs to fix it.

At first I was nervous about making this purchase. My reason is that only 3 mounting tabs/ears are visible in the photo. When the part arrived, I immediately pulled the device out of the box and all four were in there. This is a direct OEM replacement and works perfectly. Pretty easy installation.
