That's terrible, buyer, be careful not to buy a cheap Chinese-made switch. If you try to do anything with this winch, it will fall apart.

for the money you can't beat this winch, it's well built, has a nice finish and two speeds. When the load is lighter, use high speed, for heavy loads use slow speeds, so many uses to make it easier to handle heavy loads. The straps are also rated for heavy use, impressive. 4.5 stars, recommended!

Very strong winch. Can't say I tried to max it out, but it handled everything I threw at it. It comes with a pre-drilled mounting plate making it easy to install. There is a locking lever to keep the winch from spinning out and hurting anyone. The belt is very strong, let's see how it holds up - no problems so far. Good strong winds.

The gear tooth was bent and wouldn't hold onto the next tooth, sent 2 of these winches back. Each winch has been rated at 2500lbs, my boat is 2800lbs, but protocol requires a winch to weigh 75% of your boat's weight to meet trailer winch requirements. This winch does not cover, 75% is 2100lbs so I should cover lightly with a 2500lbs rated winch.
