Much better than expected, constantly evolving

For the past 4 years I've been using the pfsense firewall on a fairly complex network configuration with multiple LANs and guest networks. I finally decided to try the USG line of products in combination with my Unifi switches and access points as the pfsense router was starting to give me stability and packet loss issues. The initial setup and implementation was a bit iffy with my existing network and subnet setup. The cloud key recognized the USG, but I found that it defaults to 192.168.1.1…

  • Good product for the price

Very easy to set up, works great

Works almost automatically, right after installation. The user interface is clean and easy to use; no complex command line interface required; I've spent enough years doing this with Cisco products, I'm over it. ;-) I love all the features and the flexibility it offers. Ideal for SMEs with their own internet connection.

Pros
  • It's amazing
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Unifi system is very beautiful

I like the Unifi system and I use cloud keys to manage these devices. They are almost plug and play. I like the command line web interface and it has geo-filtering to block all traffic from 15 countries. I recommend Ubiquity

Big improvement over the entry-level model

First, good. This is significantly better than the entry-level USG. I had to upgrade as I had a faster internet connection. The smaller model has a maximum speed of around 200Mbps with most features disabled and hardware offloading enabled. This model still has most features disabled, but I can get speeds from 500Mbps to 600Mbps. Enabling Threat Management significantly slows down the device. Ubiquiti has a high-end model (XG) that has been off the market for a while due to issues. I hope they…

Commercial quality network equipment.

I moved my law firm to a new building and wanted to upgrade my network security application (Fortinet 60E). I liked my old Fortinet the way it was, but I didn't like the annual threat management fees and had to deal with the routine of routing and log monitoring. Enter this Ubiquity USG-Pro-4 that offers intelligent Unified Threat Management capabilities and a highly reliable software/hardware controller system that greatly simplifies remote monitoring and configuration. For small and…
