Description of 💪 Powerful PoE HAT for Raspberry Pi 4 - Enhanced Cooling Fan Included

For Pi 4 and 3 B+: This PoE HAT can be used to deliver clean and reliable power to the raspberry pi 3 model B+ and raspberry pi 4 model B (not included). Output Power: DC 5V (2.5A Max); Total Power Budget: 12.5W; IEEE 802.3af Compliant. Intelligent Temperature Control: the 25mm×25mm brushless cooling fan will turn automatically when the temperature of the processor is high. Smaller Size: Save more space than the official HAT, can be held in the most case for Raspberry Pi. NOTE: The network switch or power sourcing equipment (PSE) is needed to supply the PoE signal, and they must be compliant with the IEEE 802.3af or 802.3at PoE standard, particularly section 33.4.1 with regards to PSE electrical isolation of the leads. For the non-isolated switch, such as some Ubiquiti switches can not provide proper isolation, they can only work with CAT 5E and CAT 6E network cable.

Works great in computer components

The product was very easy to install and worked without any problems. I had to remove the heatsinks from the Raspberry PI to get to it. fits, but I think it's the same problem as with all expansion cards. It comes with a fan that helps keep the computer cool. I bought another brand to try and would buy this one again because of the fan.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • There are problems

Works but difficult to assemble

As a PoE device, it does its job well. Installing or using it with a case or heatsinks is a real hassle. If you don't use standoffs and screws it will fail as long as the board has a random connection to the power and PoE pins. I'm keeping it but have switched to a different product for my current needs. Might be useful in another project.

  • Sturdy finish

Powers the Pi4, but the fan is too loud.

Runs the Pi4 with no problems but as other reviews have written the fan makes a high pitched hum. When the board is idle and the fan is running at low speed, the audio is too loud and high-pitched to be comfortable. I had it in my office/network lab and had to discontinue it because it was annoying to work with. I sent it back because I didn't think it should make that noise all the time. I'm sure that would be great, but not if you're in the same room.

Great POE cap for rpi4

The only thing that bothered me a little was that you have to press REALLY hard to fully seat the cap on the pins. Pia My sausage fingers weren't well suited for the task due to the small screws. I ended up breaking my needle nose pliers so it could be screwed in properly. Mess with one cable for power and data! Recommended for all enthusiasts who also have a PoE setup!

works well; The fan is a bit noisy and should be less

It's smaller than the "official board" in raspberry, but larger. The fan could be 1. smaller 2. quieter. For example, use 15 x 15 x 4mm 3.3v-5v type RFA1504 ($7 on eBay - not available on Amazon) instead of 1cm high. And the screws in the existing fan should be reversed. The nut should be on the bottom and the bolts should be 3mm shorter. BUT still way better than most other PEO boards listed (tried 5 different ones, some are really clumsy, don't allow a hat on top). Update: Adding an 18 ohm…

Makes a high-pitched squeak

I like this little hat. It technically works, but makes an unbearably high-pitched hum when the fan isn't running. A simple solution is to plug the fan into an always-on cable, but then you have to listen for a fan that's louder than my desktop. . If you're installing in a server closet, you might be fine. My application was for a touch screen, so I give it 2 stars. My touchscreen turns on (+1 star) but can only be used for the first 30 seconds as it then requires both hands to close my ears…

UCTRONICS helped with warranty repairs

I had a fan failure on one of these devices and uctronics immediately sent a replacement device. Just thought it might be helpful for anyone interested in their warranty policy. Friendly people Not leaving any feedback on them, I am very happy with the PoE device itself. I'd say my only complaint is that the screws holding the boards together are a bit difficult to tighten, but it's by no means a deal killer. I like the size of these devices. TIP: If the fans are too loud for you, you can…

A few negative points but generally positive

Bought with the intention of testing and trying an alternative power supply for my RPI 4B. I recommend playing around, but there are some design flaws. + Reliable, has been running non-stop without overheating since I've had it (will update the review if it fails) + Small and fits in a standard RPI4 case (using an old 3.5" TFT touchscreen case with removal plate for missing screen) + Consumes 3.6W to 4W PoE (802.11af) power + Comes with fan and extensions Comes with heatsinks - Heatsinks don't…

Fan too loud. Here's how to set it up. but it's still too loud.

Compared to the official Pi POE hat (B07GR9XQJH), this fan is insanely loud. Especially if it just turns on for a second. I thought the following fan settings would help, but it still turns on for short periods of time, making weird, obnoxious noises as it does so. I have 3 of these and they all do the same thing as the "official" PoE board. I would spend the extra federal dollars and buy it. Here are some notes after figuring out how to get fan controller working on Ras 10 with Pi4: add this…
