A little difficult to get it to work but I succeeded. The wings flap just right, and it's quite nice, especially after adding color with felt tip pens. Pay close attention to the drawings, especially the placement of the rubber bands. When you're done, adjust the elastic bands so the wings flap properly. When you're done, apply a dab of super glue where the elastic enters the slots and trim off the access to leave a nice clean surface.

I love the finished project. It was very difficult for me to stretch thick rubber bands through the slots. My fingers hurt so much that I had to take a few days off to keep trying. Finally a success, except part of the shaft broke when I first started it. I had to glue it carefully. I also made a mistake with the rubber bands for the foot brake. Well after assembling it didn't work as described. Probably my fault to some extent. Maybe I put it in reverse or something. I thought I saw the problem right in the middle of the gears. I tried to fix it but couldn't take it apart (that wouldn't have been possible at the time without breaking something, which I ended up doing anyway).
