. Video to an old VGA monitor and it works like a charm

I'm using it with Raspberry Pi 2 Model B to output video to an old VGA monitor and it works like a charm. No power adapter (USB cable) is required. Good product, works out of the box with no problems.

Works with Raspberry Pi after a minor configuration change.

When I first tried to connect this device to my Raspberry Pi I had no video. That's when I came across a blog post that suggested there might be some configuration on the Pi to make it work. I commented out the following in /boot/config.txt hdmi_force_unplug=1. After that and a restart the display worked.

Good for RPi 3 Best in Computers & Accessories

Fully Enhanced I am using my Raspberry Pi 3 to write this review. I decided to use this on my RPi 3 because I wanted to use it on my old Dell VGA monitor. Works like clockwork. To get sound, right click on your audio speaker and select analog so you can use speakers or anything with an aux cable. No need to change text files, just plug and play. Update: Make sure you plug in the USB port when you use it as it wastes a lot of power and always plug it in properly. It works without a micro USB…

Poor quality control

HDMI to VGA adapter well packaged. Yes, the device looks good from the outside. Unfortunately, when I plugged it in, I found that the picture was intermittent and distorted. Thinking it would need more power I used a USB cable, but unfortunately that didn't help. I then tried the adapter on two more computers just to see if the problem was with the laptop, the problem persisted. I discussed the issue of a refund but curiosity got the better of me and I wanted to see what was going on with him…

Got it. not intentionally. I want to capture gameplay from a laptop that can't handle both gaming and recording, but the settings I have make me deaf to game audio. this is not exactly the intended use. I'll admit I haven't tested the full setup yet, but I suspect I'll probably need the included cable to power the adapter. EDIT: I don't! HDMI to audio conversion gets enough power from HDMI cable. Honestly I would like to add an extra star to my rating. Please note that you may need to adjust…

They worked great with the HP Stream Book cloud computers we used.

I got two of these doctor's office projectors at the 2015 NMRA National Convention because two of our projectors only had VGA inputs. They worked great with the HP Stream Book cloud computers that we used to work with PowerPoint. They also worked well with multiple laptops brought by individual doctors. However, a few months later I tried to use one of them to convert the output of a MacBook Pro (sorry, I don't know the model) that belonged to a doctor from a mini-meeting. MacBook refused to…

Work where others can't

Use: Toshiba 64-bit laptop with Windows 10 Pro that already has dual monitors via an Anker docking station. Not used in games but runs CyberLink Power Director for video editing and creation with no issues. Play Youtube and other videos without any problems. Review: I bought 3 different types and this brand/model is the most reliable for my Toshiba laptop to recognize and display images on the second screen. To be fair, I have an Anker dock with dual video ports (VGA and HDMI), so quite a bit…

Works great with Raspberry Pi 3 B+

I recently bought a Raspberry Pi 3 B+ kit to use as a small database server on my network. I had an old 7 inch monitor with a capacitive VGA touch screen that was used earlier in a flight sim setup. Now I haven't bothered to tweak the touchscreen functionality (because it's a server always sitting behind the console). I've now read that I needed to find an active HDMI-to-VGA device to work with the Pi, so I went with this one because it could receive external power. However, I'm very happy to…

How it works.

From my HP Specter USB-C laptop I connected: 1. J5 Build JCA374 dock to add HDMI output (it also powers a laptop via USB-C ) 2. UGreen HDMI to VGA Converter with Audio connected to the HDMI output of Dock3. UGreen supplied a power cord for a standalone USB-A charging box to AC4. An old pair of computer speakers connected to AC power (via another standalone USB-A charging box)5. The stereo speaker input is connected to the UGreen.6 audio jack. An old male to male VGA cable connected to an old…

Second Customer: Computers and Accessories

I'm a conference presenter and a teacher, so I'm constantly connected to projectors. I was at a conference last winter when my HDMI to VGA conversion started failing and then fell apart in my hand. I decided never to go screwed again if I could, and I liked the Ugreen adapter because it looked like it wouldn't replicate the characteristics of a bad adapter. I bought Ugreen and am happy with it. . I'm so happy that now that I'm teaching abroad I've started to worry a little about what happens if
