Lid does not unscrew when in use

I like this idea, the ultra-thin mesh is easy enough to clean, the granules do not ooze through. The problem lies in this; It is intended for use with a mason jar, but when you use it, it cannot close the mason jar. The filter sits high and the lids do not fit on it. I've removed the rubber grommet but the lid still can't "hook" and I can't leave it open, it will spill or attract bugs. So now I cover it with cling film but in my opinion it doesn't fit. I also tried squeezing it into a glass jar

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Not all fit

Searched and searched until I found this filter!

I bought this filter to make cold coffee. Not a single dirt has "run away" from this filter. I put 8 tablespoons of ground coffee in the filter. I then placed the filter in this SEPARATELY PURCHASED ceramic jar (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07V4GKFBJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and added water. After 12 hours in the fridge I had perfectly brewed coffee. When I removed the filter I was happy to see I had almost 2 full liters of coffee. The filter is very easy to clean

Not just for coffee

Also suitable for oil extraction. Place the plant matter in this steel strainer and fill a mason jar about 1/3-1/2 full with Everclear ethanol or other source of high proof ethanol (maybe 151 rum?) and let sit for 12-24 hours, whereby you loosen the base materials. oil from the material. Depending on the material used, heat can speed up the process or ruin the extraction. Find a recipe online and follow it. Usually an alcohol-based tincture is obtained. To increase the potency and thickness of…

The Absolute Best Filter

Love this filter. Since this filter arrived I've made cold coffee at least a dozen times and haven't had a bad batch yet. If I shake the glass while brewing, the filter doesn't leak. I've read a few reviews complaining about coffee grounds at the bottom of the pot when you're done with it, but to be honest I've never had this problem. I use regular grocery store ground coffee and it works great. No coffee grounds. I highly recommend this filter to anyone who loves iced coffee. I made my own…

Fail - Coffee, Tea and Espresso

This filter works well for filtering a cold drink with little sediment. I really wanted to like it but it gets stuck in jars and VERY difficult to get out. The wire handle that comes with the kit is basically useless as it comes loose when you try to pull the filter out. Basically, the only way I could get the filter out after brewing a batch was to carefully place a butter knife under the rim of the filter and carefully pry up and free the filter. This worked fine for about a month, but the…

Critical design flaw

I have been making cold drinks in glasses with loose, coarse grinding and multi-stage filtration for many years. I bought this product to make the process easier and less wasteful. This works (sort of), but there's a key design flaw that makes it impossible to make a true cold brew concentrate. Pros: The holes in the filter are VERY small and hold the soil really well. The filter fits perfectly in a wide-necked jug. It's very easy to clean. Cons: The filter tapers towards the bottom, severely…

Super excited to give this a try! PS Works like a dream. SO easy to use!

UPDATE: This product is amazing! I gave it four stars (see reason below) but upgraded it to five stars. Although I don't use this product as directed in the product description, it works like a charm for the glass I use it with. Mine has the filter at the bottom of the jar and I can close the lid and leave the little pen ready to use. The haircut went fabulous. The fine mesh kept out all the muddy buildup and let all the great coffee oils through. Best $11 I've Spent. Highly recommended…

Why did I give 5 stars and comparison to other filters I ordered

I have bought and tried at least 4 of these filters and this is the best so far. Whether the coffee is strong enough depends on: 1. The type of coffee you are using (Coffee Pete recommended multiple beans for your iced coffee - there are 6 of them) and the grind of the coffee beans (coarse works great).2. The ratio of ground coffee to water (I like 1 cup of ground coffee to 6 cups of water - adjust to taste)3. In the middle of the time brew coffee. (Recommended by a customer of the Cusinium…

Cons
  • poorly thought out

I love cold coffee - not only the taste but also quicker and easier when you need a cup, not a whole kettle. It's cheaper than K-cup brewers, and since you're using regular coffee grounds, it makes things easier too. I've been making a cold drink out of a milk and nut pouch for years. As for brewing, it works great. But cleaning is a bit of a pain as pulling out the grist and rinsing the bag is messy. After looking at many stainless steel filters, I decided on this one from Geesta. It fits…
