Description of πŸ”§ Kings County Tools Universal Screw Starter Set - Ergonomic Hardwood Handle, 2-5/8" Shank, Countersink Screw Shape, Easy to Use for Precision Work - Pack of 2

AWL YOU NEED - Historically an indispensable part of most woodworkers tool boxes for those users who do not want to worry about screws slipping and marring the surface when starting projects. TOOLBOX ESSENTIAL - The 2-5/8" long shank is small enough to keep in the bag to reach easily and allows you to avoid reaching for the drill when starting a job. GREAT FIT - This hardwood handle tool fits comfortably in your palm while starting eye holes. WOODWORKING ESSENTIAL - Start a pilot hole in hard woods, delicate frame work, installing short screws or any other application requiring affixing on walls. RETRO LOOK - A hand tool that harkens back to simpler days, it is ideal when precision matters while looking great too.

So useful for screwdrivers and wrenches

Why wasn't I aware of this tool before? As a woman in the household, I do most of the small tasks myself and I need something like that and am always grateful. Everyone should have this in their 🧰 toolbox.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Mostly good but...

Unusually high quality for the price.

Plus you get 2! It feels solid in the hand and is easy to handle, probably due to the high quality wood used for the handle as well as the excellent craftsmanship. I used it to open up the top screw holes to install the blinds. It worked great! And I'm very impressed. What else are they selling? I would like to know if this item is a typical quality.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Some cons

Great old school instrument

My grandfather had one from the early 1900's (old school instrument). It broke a few years ago. These are great tools to help install short wood screws in hinges, hasps, etc. Best to get out your drill bits and Vix pilot bits. This screw starter is well made of high quality wood and steel. Plus for $20 they'll send you two! Not sure why the ad shows Archimedes' drill? I greet an old friend returning to my toolbox.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Damaged

Premium Screw Starter

Based on an older design (it was already an old design when I bought my first one in 1970) and expertly crafted, this signature screw starter continues the old tradition of craftsmanship. The wooden handle fits perfectly in the palm of your hand and offers a firm grip and strong pressure when working with hardwood. The metal tip of the screw ensures precise work. It's great to see how old tools that work great are still being made and sold!

Pros
  • Solid Construction
Cons
  • Quality

Hard to find tool in Power & Hand Tools

I had a wooden handle screw starter very similar to these unfortunately I lost it. I looked for a replacement, Home Depot, Lowe's, local hardware store and couldn't find them. I've used it a number of ways, tightening screws (no holes required) and pulling the screen out of clogged pop sprinklers (the perfect size to screw the screen into the screen, pull out and brush out). One is slightly smaller in diameter and the threads are less tapered so it needs to be pushed deeper into the filter, but

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • I will add later
