The battery compartment is located at the bottom of the toy; the part that is submerged in water. After two uses, the batteries got wet, rendering the toy completely unusable; Water has entered the battery compartment. Yes, the screws were tight. If the intention is to use the latter beyond a single use, then it's really badly designed.

Bought as a Christmas present for our 9 month old baby. Did it well at first. Had to change the batteries after only a week and a half but now even with brand new batteries it doesn't work or barely pushes water from the top but not enough pressure to even squirt it. Doesn't light up anymore either and it's only been 3 weeks. Not worth the money and I guess based on the day I bought it I can't return it now.

I used it once, the suction power is terrible. At the second bath he stopped working altogether. When we first used it our toddler squeezed it and it stopped splashing - now it doesn't splash at all. It's pretty much just a floating piece of plastic which I paid $20 for - what a waste. It came as shown in the photos with a screwdriver sticking out ready to be pierced. Colors can hardly be recognized through the gray plastic. Cheap.

Good value for money. It's super cute. My toddler (2 years in a few weeks) loves it. He calls it baby and took 3 baths in one day. But at the end of the first day, it won't turn off without removing the batteries. He won't stop coming out of the water like he used to. It still works I think. And not paid much for it. And my little boss loves it. And the suction power is good for babies. He climbs very high. Light sprinkles. Nice.

When it arrived my 3 year old grandson was delighted. Batteries inserted and checked in the sink. That was great! UNTIL it's time to clean up. The toy didn't turn off, it just kept sucking up water. I had to take out the batteries to turn it off. I let it dry overnight and put it back together. He was still running when he was out of the water. My grandson asked to play with him, so for a while we just took the batteries out when we got him out of the water. It got very annoying for everyone…

Honestly I think this is the coolest toy my baby has right now. He doesn't do much with it, but I use it to splash water on him when he bathes and I play with him more than he does. It takes a second to build up pressure when you take it out of the water and put it back in, and the jets aren't too powerful, but it flashes and floats, which is fun. Buy it. I don't even know how much it costs, but it's like a bath toy you never had as a kid. It's cooler than the wind-up toy and the rubber ducky…

I give them a positive rating, it's a cool concept and my son enjoyed spending some time with it, but this toy is potentially dangerous and has a serious design flaw. I have followed the instructions. We took the toy out of the water and made sure it was drained and dried before storing it away after the swim. I received this toy a few hours before my son's bath. 3 AAA batteries inserted and soldered as directed. Checked at the sink. The light came on, along with the internal propeller (to direct water into the spout), but didn't leave it in the sink long enough to notice the water escaping from the top.
