This is a real canvas, not a canvas. The quality is good, there is nothing to complain about the price. Arrived on time, well packaged. I gave it 4 stars for the following reasons: A. The extra canvas on the back makes it difficult to lay flat on a flat surface. I might cut and re-sew it if it's not too flat. B. Although it is pre-primed I apply 2-3 coats of plaster to give a smoother finish.

I was very surprised how durable these canvases are. The word used actually sounds like it's a piece of wood molding that you would attach to a door frame. This makes it very durable, the only problem is that it looks like there is a trim under the canvas so it doesn't lay flat, but that might be ok. I love them overall and they are a very high quality canvas. They don't have a very deep interior at the back, so keep that in mind for your project.

I ordered these on Wednesday, they came on Friday. I have already drawn one of the smallest. I'm not a professional but I've painted a lot of canvas and I just love it compared to others. They were all individually wrapped in plastic so I didn't have any trouble gluing them together which other people have complained about in their reviews. I just realized after actually painting them that the large pack I ordered was the wrong one had size description. It says 2 of each: 11x14, 16x20, 18x24, 24x36, but you get two of these: 12x12, 14x18, 18x24, 24x36. The quality is not very good but the price is reasonable so I kept it and my work was a success. I mean, you can't expect much from screens of this caliber, after all. I always engrave 2 or 3 times anything advertised as a gesso. Also they were particularly rude when they arrived.

Those "stretched canvases" are an absolute joke. The frames are covered in very thin, rough material and some have creases from not being properly fastened at the back. Exactly half of it is covered with a protective plastic film, the other half was simply placed unprotected in a large shipping box and shows signs of wear due to slipping in the shipping box.
