Worked great: 2020 MacBook Air -> 27 " movie screen

Did exactly what I needed it for. My 27" movie screen works without a flash. PRO: The sound can be set to come from the monitor. PRO: Keyboard functions (brightness, speaker volume) don't work even when connected to a hub connected to air. UPDATE: My mistake, brightness and audio levels work correctly. Assuming you connect the display's USB port correctly. Dooooo!

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • I will add later

Works great!

I'm using this to connect a second monitor to a 2018 MacMini. The second monitor is the Apple LED Cinema Display. This cable simply goes from one of the MacMini's USB-C ports (all are Thunderbolt) to the MiniDisplayPort LED Cinema Display. Works perfectly. It turns out you don't have to use the HDMI output to connect a second monitor. My setup is a 27" LG UltraFINe at 5120x2880 and a 27" Apple LED Cinema Display at 2560x1440.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Reliability

Buy a genuine Apple connector - don't waste your time!

I bought this to connect my new Macbook Pro to my old Apple display. Nothing :( The lightning hole wasn't quite right. It didn't power the display. I watched a few videos afterwards and everyone said to buy Apple. The cable must be perfect because it gets power from the computer will - anyway spend $40 now I'm so frustrated I can throw my computer and view it out the window and now I've got a few days of work on a tiny 13" screen. Grr!

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Not bad

Worked great! to computer cable adapter

I have two 27" 2011 Apple Cinema Displays and wanted to connect them to my new 2019/2020 Mac Pro which is coming soon. I also have a pair of MacBook Pros with USBC/Thunderbolt. I took the cable out of the box, plugged it into the display cable, plugged it into one of my MacBook Pros - worked GREAT, then I connected the monitor's USB cable to the USB 2 -> USB C (Apple) cable, plugged it into connected to the laptop, the surveillance camera on the monitor worked perfectly Rarely does something

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Not trendy

I took the cable out of the box, hooked it up to the display cable, hooked it up to one of my MacBook Pros - worked GREAT. I then plugged the monitor's USB cable into a USB 2 -> USB C ( Plugged in the Apple) cable, plugged it into my laptop, the security camera on the monitor worked flawlessly, rarely does

Working recommendation

Using another company's DP HDMI cable bought from Revain a year ago had all sorts of problems with the display port on the board last week. I spent hours looking for options to use a second monitor and connect remotely, switch cables, etc. Nothing worked. I called the motherboard manufacturer and complained and they offered to reset the cmos battery, clear the bios and start over with a clean build. If that fails, send an RMA. Gosh, and before opening the case, I ordered this DisplayPort to…

Pros
  • Suitable for Extended or Mirror mode
Cons
  • Not sure

Strange behavior with 27 " Apple Cinema Display

Overall picture quality is decent. Issues. Some UI elements appear slightly blurry (text boxes in some apps but not all). It is too no specific spot on the screen as these blurry parts are moved to where I moved the window. Then I noticed that if I moved the mouse pointer and then stopped, the pointer went into a slightly blurry state after about a second. Some window shadows also shifted slightly when moving the mouse, I'm not entirely sure what the explanation for this is, other than maybe…

Pros
  • Enjoy 4K at 60Hz
Cons
  • Long delivery time
