We have used them on the beach and they are great! It's easy to drop your beach bag and walk away. They don't fit in a standard kuzi jar so that's one of the downsides but if you're a real girl like me your narrow jar and kuzi fit well and contain no sand!

I recently. I used these cup holders on our Cape Cod trip. At first I forgot I packed them but then I remembered as soon as the drink spilled on my beach blanket! They are cool. Purchased for beach use. They're good for drinks and help hold them while studying. However, they are not suitable for snacking as they are so low to the ground that sand cannot help but get into them. I think they would be useful for drinks in almost any outdoor setting to provide extra protection from spills, although they only work on a fairly flat surface.
