Right valve! on valves

I bought two of these valves 3 years ago to shut off the water in my hot tub so I can service the heater without draining it. They worked great but there was a small leak when draining last winter. They are a great alternative to ball valves especially larger sizes due to their much lower cost. However, there are a few things to note: 1. They are not really designed to restrict the flow of water. They work but can be slow to self-close due to the weight of the valve.2. If there is debris in the water it can settle to the bottom of the valve seat/slot and prevent it from fully closing. This can be anything from a minor problem to a serious problem such as the main drain valve in a large…
