Easy installation, clean and dry the tank thoroughly first

Thoroughly clean and dry the black tank before beginning installation. I flushed the tank three times and then opened the valve and removed the cap. This allowed the tube, tank and valve to dry out. Many of the websites I checked for installation recommendations recommended replacing the included hardware with stainless steel. I did it. After 15 years of removing hardware I can only conclude that I wasted my money on stainless steel hardware. (Maybe those sites dealt with inferior products?)…

Pros
  • ALL PARTS INCLUDED: Gaskets, nuts and bolts allow the valve to be fitted out of the box
Cons
  • Everything is OK

Much better quality than the plastic handle release valve I replaced. It feels like it has to go on. The most annoying thing is trying to align the seals properly so they don't slip when the valve is seated. Then when it's installed, you'll wonder if they're in the right position. It can get a little tight installing this between two pipes so take your time and make sure the gaskets are in place. Oh, and before you remove that old valve, wash your black tank way longer than ever. It's a job…

Close, but not quite

I ordered this because a pipe came from my caravan that connected my gray and black water tank through a smaller valve like this one next to the tank and this one ends with a cap on the end which is made same brand . The part I had wasn't broken, but I couldn't find any of the square brackets to replace the broken one; It turned out that the cap had a square ring around it and was pinched on that part, but there's no way to separate it, so I just had to glue the broken part back together. In…

Direct replacement, leak protection

This Valterra Bladex valve was a direct valve replacement in my old Carriage 5 wheeler RV . I replaced both the 3" and the 1 1/2". The new valves run much lighter/smoother and more importantly the slow leak has stopped. The exhaust pipe is now completely dry with the valves closed - as it should be. I replaced the bolts that came with the 3" valve with stainless steel. That's not a complaint - it's just that the old ones were really rusty and hard to come by. and my drain valves are in an…

Unfortunately this does not work

The common problem with this valve is simple - it leaks. And it doesn't drip a bit, "flexible glue will fix that" - I would get the same results if I pulled out my old valve, went to the kitchen, took out the little strainer we use for cocktails and put it back in Place. In particular, the problem lies in two visible horizontal gaps between the valve body and the blade inside. When I saw it, I thought that such a huge defect certainly cannot be, and that when it was installed in the pipe, a…
