Van Hagen Luxury Scented Shave Review

A year ago, mostly for sentimental reasons, I revived the brush and bowl I've used for 30 years, determined to invest in decent soap. This soap uses foam spray to give you a closer shave than ever before and the scent is pleasant and long-lasting. Excellent product, at a very reasonable price. And a great shave too.

I have tried many different brands of shaving soap over the years and Van Der Hagen is the best I have ever used. The foam is thick and greasy.

Very low odor and I find glycerin soap better suited for sensitive skin. However, this is exactly the shape that can be put on the bottom of a shaving mug. Using a shaving brush along with hot water to heat up a shaving mug really looks more like a 4 1/2 star.

Excellent foam, skin protection. I prefer spring blades, which are fairly sharp, and this is by far the best soap I've found.

Good shaving soap for beginners. Smells good and lathers well. Doesn't provide enough smoothness and protection, so pre-shaving is highly recommended.

Very smooth and creamy lather even just holding the puck and skipping the brush. Provides a close shave with almost no cuts for men with very sensitive skin and lots of ingrown hairs that typically require a 3-pass shave. Very little touch up is required between WTG, ATG and XTG shots. With this soap, the skin does not dry out excessively when shaving or after drying with a towel.
