If you want UHS-II compatibility, built-in USB-C transfer speeds (no adapters needed), and a well-known brand for less than $25, this really is your only choice in April 2018. Purchased for my MacBook Pro with Touch Bar for UHS-II SD card reader from my Sony Actions - Cameras and Fujifilm X-T20. It's the only one I could find that offers USB 3.1 speed, MBPw/TB's own Type-C connector, and UHS-II compatibility for less than $20. After much testing, buying and returning some others, this is the best option for MacBook Pro. I tried a pair of Sandisk but they ejected halfway and couldn't complete the transfer. This reader worked straight away and could transfer photos instantly, it was fast and easy to use. I don't need a micro SD but there aren't any better options and it's still smaller than others even without a micro SD. I put off buying this Verbatim because there were so many complaints about it not sitting in place
