This cap was used on a pump we made from a 5 gallon bucket for our aquarium. It fits perfectly in a standard 5 gallon bucket and won't leak even when the pressure of a large 75 gallon tank forces water through the bucket. This saved us a lot of money ($200) on a good filter. I read the reviews before purchasing and was a little skeptical about this product. I decided to take a chance and pulled the trigger on this and a 5 gallon metal bucket a while back here on Revain. Both arrived, I put it on a bucket, the lid fit but the locking ring didn't fit. I thought I had it! After taking the time to inspect the locking ring, I found that one side was wider than the other. Use the original orange cap for Berryman 5 gallon carburetor cleaners. Gallon can of Berryman B9 carburetor cleaner. When I received the jar with the original orange lid, I could turn it upside down and it wouldn't leak. I examined the orange cap and black cap that came with the mounting strap. The seals on the Berryman cap were black material that was definitely designed for carb cleaner, while the cap that came with the tape has an off-white seal.
