Not bad for the price. Cassette could be better.

I like this $100 device. The cassette does not record as much as the input signal. AM/FM reception is pretty good, better than the $200 Stude-Baker version I also own and the Brooklyn GPO, which I owned shortly after and returned because of its imperfections.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Updates available

Nostalgia Sales: Boomboxes

If you look at this. You're probably an 80's or 90's kid and had a boombox. I ordered it for someone else and he was over the moon with excitement. And then suddenly I got jealous. And now I'm seriously considering ordering one. There is a fancy version with a CD player. But let's not fool ourselves. If you're watching this you'll need a cassette player so after the first half you can open it, turn the baby over and press play again! That's it. Bluetooth works, speakers are good but not great…

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Can't remember

Exactly what I was looking for!

My son, like many other kids who have never seen the tape, saw the Awesome Mix from Guardians of the Galaxy and immediately wanted an "old fashioned boombox like yours, Mommy!" (Thanks, for calling me old baby) I chose this for his birthday and I'm so glad I did because he loves it so much! He'd rather listen to music on it than his iPad, so that's an asset in itself! old school. It has a classic ghetto blaster sound and I was surprised that it had real switches and knobs and no digital stuff…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Crumpled

It's not worth it. suitable for ghetto blaster

I love ghetto blasters, have a Magnavox D8443 but always wanted a modern ghetto blaster for my mobile phone. I was hesitant to buy this but two 5 star reviews made me pull the trigger. I received the boombox two days later and was disappointed with the cheapness of the material it was made from. The sound was fine. I've heard better things about real ghetto blasters from the 80s. The radio and tape recorder work, but when I connected my phone to bluetooth, the sound only came out of the left…

Pros
  • delivery was very fast
Cons
  • boring packaging

DO NOT BUY THIS CHARACTER, YOU WILL REGRET.

Bought this for my dad who was in his 80's, he liked to listen to his cassettes on an old 90's Sony CD player that we are in the process of refurbishing so figured I, I'd buy him that crappy radio and cassette as a gift. Three butterflies and the tape player plays the tapes very slowly, like half speed, slow. In truth, this piece of shit seemed cheap from the start since it's just a simulation, a copy of a real boombox from the 70's that had weight! The only half decent thing about this gem is…

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Good but not great

It felt like I had to weigh myself

A lot of these reviews are misleading. Either the people writing them don't know how to properly work with bluetooth or their delivery service was Ace Ventura so the item was damaged. Anyway, here's an unbiased review of 6 months: Pros: 1) Looks great. 2) Never had any problems with Bluetooth or USB connection. 3) Bluetooth audio is fine. Not bad, not great, just OK 4) The audio quality of the tape is solid. Cons: 1) The radio's door doesn't close completely, so one of my cassettes got eaten…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Available in black only
