Description of Victron Energy Phoenix 500VA 12V Pure Sine Wave Inverter for 120V AC Power

This Victron Energy Phoenix Inverter allows you to power domestic equipment requiring 120-Volt AC, using leisure or automotive batteries rated at 12-Volt DC. The pure sine wave output delivers 500VA Continuous power, 900-Watt peak power with high efficiency, 1-Watt draw in zero-load power ECO mode. This inverter can be operated and monitored with computers, tablets and smartphones because of the VE.Direct communication port. Cables and dongles are sold separately. High start-up power is used to start loads such as power converters for LED lamps or electric tools. In ECO mode, the inverter will switch to standby when the load decreases. Employing the hybrid HF technology, the result is a top quality product with compact dimensions, light in weight and capable of supplying power, problem free, to any load.

The price is worth it

Excellent inverter! ECO mode is great and eliminates the need for an external on/off switch. Don't be fooled by Chinese-made inverters that only work reliably at 50% of their rated power. Victron equipment can run at full capacity throughout the day.

Pros
  • GOLS certificate
Cons
  • Clarity

Worth the extra money!

I struggled to spend extra money on Victron but my doubts were immediately dispelled when I opened the box. The inverter exudes quality, the eco mode is great, the unit is completely silent with light to moderate loads, and setup and monitoring with the optional Bluetooth adapter is great.

Pros
  • Quality workmanship
Cons
  • A few minor issues

Extremely well built inverter 12 volt DC to 120 volt AC

These guys make the best products for solar/off grid applications. They cost or are more expensive but worth it once you buy your products. This inverter has run at its maximum rated load many times with no problems. I bought the module to provide Bluetooth connectivity to provide full remote control and monitoring capabilities. Worth the extra dollars. I expect many years from this inverter and would recommend this product

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Glad I chose Victron, solid product

This is a reliable inverter, I had so many problems that I tried to solve with all possible options. We needed the ability to run on AC power while touring in our caravan and it worked great. It definitely has quality components and the remote switch (sold separately) is a great setup. It runs quietly and I love the fact that I can program it to adjust settings if needed. I'm glad I made this choice over other cheaper models.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Security

You get what you pay for!

I had several small cheap inverters but I needed a good inverter to power the multi cooker with a 50Ah 16.5V LiFePo4 battery. Most inverters cut off at 15V, so don't work, this one works in the range of 9.5-17V, wide input range, with 120VAC PSW output, can easily handle the multi cooker. Features like remote on/off, phone adjustment via a module, ECO mode where it detects the load and switches on and off when needed and consumes only 1W are exactly what you will find in high-end inverters…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Good sine wave inverter.

I bought this to replace a much cheaper sine wave inverter in my trailer. The previous inverter had very short battery cable studs, making it very likely that the battery cables would fall off and short out something. The rest of the electronics are in my Victron Energy caravan and I am very impressed. This unit was a little larger but easy to install and the battery cable clamps are much more secure. The only issue I had was the ECO mode, which monitors the AC load and turns off the inverter…

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Obsolete

Works but no bluetooth and a bit too expensive for what it is

Yes the device does what it's supposed to do - take 12V DC and convert it to 120V AC. However, this is just a 400W pure sine wave inverter for $160. For the same price, you can buy a 1000W inverter from other sources. I chose the Victron device for the bluetooth control (which requires an extra charge to get the bluetooth dongle). I don't think it was worth the money as Bluetooth controls are sorely lacking for this device. It tells you the input voltage of the battery but not the power drawn…

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Mini fridge not working

I have purchased a Victron Energy Inverter, Phoenix 12V 500VA 120V with Victron VE. Direct Bluetooth Smart Dongle [ASS030536011] which I thought would work great with the Victron BMV-712 battery monitor with Victron Energy temp sensor for BMV-702/712 which I bought earlier and would like to have one running a small mini fridge in my RV, matching my killer watts, draws a maximum of 375 watts starting and 75 watts running, not enough to run my mini fridge in our summer kitchen in our RV. As soon…

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Available in white only
