Ease of use and excellent image quality!

Books have always been difficult to scan - difficult to position on a flatbed scanner and forget the automatic document feeder! Enter that top scanner - basically a high-resolution webcam configured to aim at a book or other item below. The magic here is combining the camera, setting up a hand for it (including lighting a foot or a hand button to "trigger" the picture) and software for auto-aligning and cropping - all of which work very well together to create Quickly and easily create clean…

The best book scanner I've ever tried!

Bought to digitize the books I still have in paper form and so far very happy. Setup is very easy and intuitive, and I only consulted a small guide once to make sure I didn't miss anything. Comes with a software CD, but you can also download it directly from their website (viisan(dot)com, then go to Support > Download Driver & Manual > Book Scanner and select "VIISAN OfficeCam" to download utilities) - 332MB zip file. The TWAIN DS support is phenomenal and fast, just missing the Curve Flatten option in the GUI

Update 7/6/2021 It just keeps getting better. There are so many hidden gems in TWAIN DS even without the NOGUI option and control over the Curve Flatten and Laser Targeting features. Plymor offers a "B013IVWJP6 Clear Acrylic Open Book Stand" available here at Revain that holds the book in a clear stand that's perfect for holding it open without using your fingers to open it.
