Only the best blender!

My Vitamix arrived today. If you were on the fence about getting one, do it! This is a game changer. I love making cashew sour cream for bowls of rice and beans. The jar above is sour cream from my old blender. Cashew nuts were soaked for 14 hours before cooking. I used my Ninja blender. Below is the same recipe made with my Vitamix. The cashews didn't even need to be soaked! Look how creamy it is. This amazing kitchen gadget certainly makes the vegan lifestyle a lot easier.

I read other reviews about louder noise and better mixing

I read other reviews about louder noise and better mixing. Well, compared to the standard Easter blenders I've owned for many years (2 of them), they're so loud you have to cut off the conversation. This mixer is 30-35% quieter and can easily talk up to level 8. But you don't use level 9-10, you use short seconds. Performance aside, I had no idea this level of mix was even possible. I love how smooth and cloudy my smoothies and pina coladas turn out. This alone justified the cost of this car…

Baby, it's COLD outside, but it's warm in our tummy. :)

First I ordered through Vitamix but after waiting 2 days for an answer I called. They were very polite and explained that they supply their suppliers first and they were out of stock. So I ordered from Revain on Tuesday and received it on Thursday. FedEx delivered a day earlier than was on the route. And I'm SOOOOO happy because it snowed here in Houston last night and I woke my sons up with a high pitched chime while I was making hot chocolate. Haha 2 cups milk, 1/2 cup (90g) semi-sweet…

better than nutribullet? for capacity only

Owned for two weeks, upgraded from Nutribullet with 32oz cup size, mainly because I wanted to make a 64oz smoothie instead of two separate batches in Nutribullet. The biggest difference, besides the price, is the amount of air bubbles mixed with vitamin C. it adds. Now I understand why vacuum blenders will revolutionize blending (they remove all the air before blending). Is it creamier than Nutribullet? Yes. Is it an advantage? depends what you like. Nutribullet didn't add all that air, and it…

Vitamix Ascent 3500 Safety Issues

Hi I just got my Vitamix Ascent 3500 on 5 I am using the Ninja blender which I have had for 3 years. When I used my Vitamix to make a smoothie on July 15th (after 10 uses!), to my disappointment, the blender gave off a burning smell and an error code E3 2-2 appeared on the digital display. I parked the car immediately. Then I tried turning it back on, but the error code still came up and the Vitamix wouldn't start. A couple of hours later, Vitamix began to work again, but when I increased the…

Worth the price - but watch out for error code

I've wanted to buy the Vitamix for a long time, mainly because it was advertised for making soups. But I hesitated because of the price. I mean who can justify $600 for a blender. But recently I've been looking into whole foods and decided that soups made from fresh vegetables would come in handy. So I took the plunge. I chose the Ascent A3500 because I love all the bells and whistles. I love the fact that I just push a button and all the time and speed changes are done for me. I can install it
