Works on Linux (plug and play)

Hello, this is the second card I bought, I made sure that X550 is the main chip. After some research, the driver for this card is in the Linux kernel. I plugged it in and it worked. I checked the speed and it's 10GB. (9.8) So this works as expected. I recommend if you want to upgrade your network.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Clarity

Works fine on a legacy Dell R710 server

Works flawlessly on a legacy Dell R710 server. The customer should be aware that not all SPF+ adapters will work with the Intel NIC. You need SFP+ for Intel NIC

Pros
  • Quick replacement
Cons
  • Available in black only

Decent Nickname: Network Cards

Used on the MidnightBSD server. Works better than the 540 chipset and seems to run much cooler. Build quality seemed decent.

Pros
  • Brilliantly Made
Cons
  • Weight

X710 didn't work on Windows 10 --- X520 worked

I bought the X710 because it's the best and the description says it's supported on Windows 10 . It's done not working properly so I bought an X520 and it seems to be working fine. The X710 had network connectivity issues and I had a hard time diagnosing issues with it. There are other reports of problems with the X710.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • I really don't like it, everything is fine

Good price for a quality product

This original chip worked great, it was recognized as an Intel chip on my computer. Works with Windows 10 which does not come with drivers but installs drivers automatically (downloading drivers requires an existing internet connection such as gigabit or wifi). Comes with regular and flat mounts and a decent heatsink. . Ordered two cards, one of the card's heatsinks shifted during shipping, but it was easy enough to put it back in place. The heatsink also had thermal grease on it, which is a…

X550 runs Esxi 6.7

Plug and Play for VMware (Esxi 6.7U3). The speed is as expected. I am connected to a Qnap switch with 2 10G ports and 8 2.5G ports. On 3 2.5Gb/s workstations I've never used anywhere near 10Gb/s let alone 20Gb/s, but I couldn't find a server NIC for 2.5/5Gb/s. The only thing to worry about is that the spring locking pins for the heatsink are plastic (cheap!) The card gets a bit warm so you'll need good airflow or a fan on the heatsink. I'm using a 40mm fan mounted on a heatsink that measures…

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Makes me angry

Internally everything seems fine

Bought for a customer to use on his server. They're almost constantly transferring data, so this thing is being tested. It was easy to install and Windows either already had compatible drivers or found them quickly. I haven't heard anything bad from the customer so I assume it's still working fine.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
