Simply do without. This thing is useless.

It sits well on my 5 liter mixing bowl but isn't very stable. There is no seal or anything to keep it in place. Flour still goes everywhere with her, too. As much as without. Unfortunately, part of the edge of the funnel is of little use. It's still difficult to pour something through the spout, and if you hit it lightly, it will fall.

Pros
  • Well built
Cons
  • Not automatic

Fits badly and deforms the first time in the dishwasher.

The shield does not fit the bowl of my xm75 snugly and warped after the first wash in the dishwasher. Now I can't get it to stay on the bowl unless I keep it down. I'll buy a real Kitchenaid sign and pray it gets better. Ten bucks down the drain as it's non-returnable, so beware of buying a product a few bucks cheaper if you're going to be using it frequently.

Pros
  • Robust design
Cons
  • Other interesting options are available.

Imperfect but useful

Other users have reported that a tighter fit would be ideal, but it doesn't. In my experience, it's not exactly horror. It may not fit perfectly, but it doesn't wobble or fall like others have experienced, and I use it when making buttercream. Chaos. This is much easier than using aluminum foil or plastic wrap to contain the pop-up. I'm glad I have it.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Drives me crazy

Most effective at storing dry ingredients in a bowl.

Whenever I added flour to the mixing bowl, I had to turn off the mixer, raise the beater lever, add flour, lower the lever and start the mixer again, and then some more flour spilled out of the bowl onto the countertop and the floor. Now that I have a pouring shield, I just pour the flour into the measuring spoon 1/2 cup at a time, pour the flour onto the shield's spout and it just slides into the bowl and the flour doesn't stick out anywhere. I don't waste a single dry ingredient from my…

It works oh but needs a lot of improvement

It works oh well. Not much flour flies over the counter if I add too much at once, but only when running at low speed. I can't give it 5 stars because it needs a lot of technical improvements. The rear facing the mixer is still open, allowing splashes to fall back onto the mixer. If it had two sections that could be moved it would be better. In addition, the discharge angle is a bit low. Raised at a higher, sharp angle will ensure all your ingredients get into the bowl; You still need to insert
