WARN 29312 D-Ring Mount with 0.75-inch Pin for 2-inch Class III Receiver Hitch Mounts Review

A piece of steel. I bought it to get a small tractor out of a tree. 100x overkill, but useful in an emergency. My hitch will likely come loose long before it falls apart.

Previously Made Entirely in the USA. Then the mounts came from China and the mount itself was made here. Now everything seems to come from China. Even with the Warn name, I would never trust this product with my life. There is a lot of high-quality home-made emergency equipment.

Wow! What can I say? There aren't many parts on this product, but the 3 parts that come with it are rock solid and just as heavy. It has a good fit and finish. The "fork" section is the best as all parts are solid steel. There are no gaps for the bad guys in this tow shackle! Yes, it might be a bit more expensive, but it's a one-time cost and well worth the extra $10!

Good solid stuff. Unlike most others, this is a solid steel bar, not a hollow bar. Has pulled a lot of people out of the ditches with full confidence this winter. There are no welds that could break. You don't have to worry that it's a weak point. It will be the last thing to break. It also shows no sign of rust after being hung from the back of my truck all winter.

This receiver mount is good quality and a good tool for attaching a recovery strap if you already have a receiver hitch fitted to the frame. I had no trouble attaching the shackle to the shackle. as mentioned by others. The mount unscrews easily and slides easily over the mount without modification. I have used this product before this winter to help other vehicles that have lost traction in loose snow.

Ordered two of these - 3/4 D shackles included with WLL 4 3/4T. The premium for a solid piece of Chinese won't be the weakest link. If you want to be pretty, keep them in a strapped back bag (don't kill your passengers/yourself) and head to the mall with a painted, soon to be rusty product. I suspect this mount for the receiver will work fine in an emergency; I want it for emergencies, but this product isn't about the build quality at all. It's cast, so the receiver is all metal and heavy, but not square or smooth. When I put this in my Class IV hitch there is a lot of play on all sides. Made from a single piece of forged steel, this mount is just what you need for vehicle recovery. I don't understand the "sloppy landing" comments. Doesn't matter? You won't get a perfectly square piece of forged steel, but a small cosmetic fit/finish issue will not affect its function.
