This is really great quality. They become more absorbent with washing and can be used as a wash, but are about the size of a paper towel. To reduce paper towel consumption, you need to have a clean/dirty system and be able to rely on the laundry. I use 2-3 a day because you can fold them in quarters to keep using the clean side for wiping up counters and spills. For the price it is great value and I am happy to support the family business and reduce my family's waste.

There hasn't been any paper in our kitchen for 10 years. We recently needed to refresh our supply of towels and tried 4 different options made from unbleached organic cotton and bamboo. They came out on top and are better than other cotton towels and square towels we've tried in the past. They are a good size, falling between a large towel and a smaller "shop rag" size. We love these towels as a replacement for our paper towels. Yes, we still have the bun under the sink, but we haven't even reached for it yet. They wash well, are soft, durable and are great for cleaning counters and small children. They don't absorb water very well when dry, BUT if they are moistened and wrung out first, they become extremely absorbent.
