They're more greasy than chalky

I don't really understand. I bought these thinking they were chalk so you could brush them off but they don't look like chalk at all. They feel greasy and hard. To write with them you have to press hard and then they don't erase like chalk, but leave a thick line that I couldn't erase. I couldn't paint over the drawn line with them, the water color resisted. Unfortunately not at all what I thought and useless for what I wanted them for.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • There are downsides

Excellent quality, marking very easy!

I LOVE these pens, not only do they draw very well with almost no pressure, but they are also easy to sharpen with a sharpener. As you can see, there is. I'm breaking on wood. I've tried both white and silver and both work equally well. The chalk stays long enough to be quilted and by the time I'm done quilting it's almost gone (white pencil). I used a silver pen for another project that I haven't worked with much while sewing. The silver line disappeared easily with a simple hand wash. I will…

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Don't use if you want your labels to go away!

I need something to define the boundaries of my navy duvet. I use Roxanne quilting needles and love them so much I bought marker pens expecting a product to be just as good. I was very disappointed! After marking one side of my quilt and having trouble with the "chalk" I figured there must be a better way. I tried removing stains with a damp cloth. It did not work. A very damp rag was used at the end, rubbed with a hard left blanket to dry it. The labels still haven't gone - tried the same…

  • practical item

My Favorite Quilting Pens

These are my favorite quilt markers. They are not suitable for all colors, but silver is excellent for light fabrics and white for very dark fabrics. This is one of the very few pens that I can wipe clean with a damp cloth. However, be careful not to iron out the marks as this will make them much more difficult to remove. Because it is a colored and water-soluble pencil, it is quite soft and needs careful sharpening. I have found the best sharpener for this and all my colored pencils are manual

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Thin
