Exactly the fan I was looking for

I have a fully enclosed 56 volt 2 amp LiPo charger that always got hot with use. I was afraid that one day it would burn out. I installed this fan, hooked it up to a 110 volt input, drilled a hole in the opposite end of the case and it really affected the amount of heat generated by the charger.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • No mold required

Adequate but weak flow, assembly required

Well this is a cheap imported fan. Calm. The airflow is not impressive at all. To use it you need to connect 120V. I wouldn't use the flimsy plug they provide. You will want to crimp or solder your work and then heat shrink it. It's fine if you can do it, but that's an hour's work for a $12 fan. Not that impressive.

No, just no. Stay away from it.

I received this fan on time, the packaging was fine. Plugged in a fan to try it out and it turned on and did exactly what it was supposed to do. Then I put it on the project box it belongs to and it doesn't start. Literally 30 minutes from test to install and he died. I spent over an hour diagnosing if I did something wrong and no, just a bad product. The fan was purchased to cool over $1000 worth of hardware so I have no interest in getting a replacement at this time, just not worth the risk…

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • The cable is shorter than others

Definitely uses less power than non-EC EC cake fan

This review is for Wathai's 120mm x 38mm EC fan. I bought two of these to replace two old 22w shade post fans (no cupcakes) that I installed on top of the back of my wood stove. Using a Ponie PN1500 power monitor, I found that the old high speed fans had a total power draw of 38 watts. I started looking for more efficient fans as they often run for days. A study of traditional AC cupcake fans found they are no better for lower power consumption. It turns out that typical inexpensive AC muffin…
