Not bad with a few caveats. Focus is key. It took some time to focus. The image seems to go from blurry to more or less sharp at about 1/4 turn of the lens. It was quite wide for me and the lens dangled a bit at this point. I'll try a wrap or two of teflon tape to see if I can get it in place, otherwise I expect it to move. , I connected this camera to a Raspberry Pi Zero v1.3 using Raspbian Lite and used Motion to view the camera. I set it to 1280 x 1024 at 4 fps with no motion detection and no streaming over Wi-Fi. In a room with normal lighting, "dark" areas appear brighter. Up close, my hand is blindingly white. Infrared works. I watched it on my porch on a moonless night. Works great with MotionPie software. The infrared panels get a little warm, but not too hot to the touch. I installed a 2.1mm lens which is a standard size you can buy here or on eBay for around $9. I'm looking for a way to compress the stream using H264 to lower the bitrate and get a higher resolution at more fps that RPI2 can handle. It works more or less as expected. This thing lets me see my office pretty damn well at night with the lights off, so it works damn well for night vision. Colors are a bit muddy, but I think that's normal on most low-light cameras. All in all, for my application, I'd rather have good night vision than crisp colors during the day.
