Great halter, great mileage, glad I read the reviews.

I really like the color of my horse. The size corresponds to the larger size. His previous halter was a plain Nylon Weaver (about 5 years old) Avg Horse Sz and he was on the very last hole. This halter is adjustable and fits perfectly, it's in the penultimate hole on both sides and I have the horse size. This is a 16 hour TBx with a rather petite head to give you an idea.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

a safer halter for your horse.

I generally don't like putting halters on a horse. but if need be, this tear-off holster at least gives them the chance to avoid entanglement and death. Make sure it fits properly so it fits snugly and doesn't sag when grazing. If you are the right size it should be easy. If needed, you can drill additional holes in the detachable leather straps across the back of the head to attach the halter.

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • Expensive

Beautifully made - they are gigantic. The size is far from it.

I bought this for my 270 lb filly which is true to size and measurements. She is big and swam in it. If you've ever found yourself in a situation where you had to get off a halter for whatever reason, we all know that breaking loose is the only way out. A proper, well-fitting halter is of the utmost importance to ensure your horse doesn't get caught on the fence and put his foot through it. The halter itself is perfect, the dimensions need to be readjusted.

Fits true to size and looks good for the price

Exactly what you would expect from a Weaver - maybe not the fanciest of leather or hardware but it's solid and gets the job done. I like the royal blue color - it's very light. I had read other reviews that said the halter was too big so I chose a "small horse size" for my petite TB mare. I wish I could just go "medium" because the neck latch is a little smaller than I prefer and it's on the last few holes on either side of the crown.

Outstanding quality, traditional demolition

I love the tear-away Weaver halters. I have a matching leadline (also from Weaver). I love that you can mix and match colors. The leather tear-off crown is comfortable to the touch, flexible, soft and durable. The nylon is soft and the cheek pieces that run down the sides of the horse's muzzle are a little stiff so I can grab them and immediately hold the halter in my hand, feel it and adjust it very quickly. , like a muscle memory without seeing and unraveling it like a sluggish halter. I will

Good frog halter, all sizes oversized

Nice colours, good value for money, lasts quite well as a frog halter for 6-12 months. The first one I bought was a small horse in hurricane blue (very pretty) for a petite 16 year old holstein mare and it was too big for her but suited my trapeze gelding well on the last few holes. This time I bought him a medium sized horse in emerald green (a beautiful light turquoise) thinking he would be perfect but he is HUGE and has a big drafty head. I put fleece pads all around the last holes and will…

Get one for each horse!

I love these halters with leather safety straps on top. I've watched a few backtracking episodes and want to be sure the skin won't tear if there's a "hang up" emergency. The fittings have never broken and will last for many years. They also have a good range of colors. I have them for all my horses! My only downside, which is very minor, is that I usually have to drill a few extra holes in the leather piece to get it to fit perfectly, as the pre-drilled holes leave it too long. the shortest…

Sturdy and working, improperly assembled

Beautifully made halter. Ordered a large horse for my TB x Perch and it fits great. The leather crown has stretch so you can accommodate for that. Good equipment. Pieces of thick nylon. My complaint might be that the part that holds the cheek and nose together is crooked. I figured this would be something I could fix if I put it on my horse. However, after adjusting and trimming the marks, it turned out that it was not assembled correctly. Maybe my halter was defective, but another horse with…
