I will be very careful when using your TV's USB cable for power unless the one I received is defective or shorted out. I have a Sony XBR75X850D and this LED strip fried my motherboard. I replaced the motherboard with a new one and the TV works fine again. I then connected the light bar to the new mainboard and after 1 1/2 days the USB 1 burned out. After reading the reviews I thought it would be great to put on my Sharp 70 inch flat screen. I used masking tape first to make sure I had the correct orientation of the USB plug to get to the socket. After about 30 minutes I fixed it and then realized I needed 2 AAA batteries for the remote (they are NOT included) and turned it on. Very cool ! I put this on a 65 inch TV with a curved shape. No problem bypassing the TV entirely. I had to adjust about 4 inches from the edge to make it around. It turned out to be a perfect fit. Folding the edge to turn worked well. I watched a video on YouTube to see how to do it. I read many reviews that said sticking tape was a problem with many of these LED strips. Not in this case. I had to use tape to temporarily hang it loosely, to figure out where it would start and end, and to make sure the power cord would fit into the USB port on the back of the TV. On the smaller 65" TV I only needed two extensions for the pieces running sideways, at the top I just connected two strips straight together. 2 weeks later I remove this TV and put a 75" TV in its place and sure enough the old tv wasn't long enough without this extension so I had to buy another one it's a bit more annoying
