Incredible amount of plastic.

For a $50 toaster Only toasts 2 slices at a time However I bought it partly for its ease and I don't need to toast more than 2 slices at a time I live alone lol

Pros
  • Good for many
Cons
  • Vanish

What a fun toaster!

I like my bar counter style toaster. It makes a good toast and makes me feel like I'm on vacation, staying at a motel that offers free breakfast instead of being stuck at home with a lousy pop-up toaster during the pandemic.

Totally incompatible

Our old black toaster decided we wanted burnt toast no matter what setting we set it on so I thought I'd buy a product with a history of condition. Surprise surprise. He also has a mind of his own. Two slices of toast are not toasted in the same way. The first slices may be undercooked while the next two are either burnt or just toasted on the top edge. Very very disappointed. Regardless of the type of bread, no two pairs are the same.

  • Brilliantly made

Pretty but messy for toaster

Practical great design. The toaster does its job well until the toast falls onto the drip tray underneath. Any toast crumbs will remain in the bowl, but you will not be able to remove them. There is a small ridge on the edges of the tablet. It's hard to clean. When you close the bowl, all the crumbs will fall onto the countertop. If you leave the bowl open, all you can do is use a vacuum or a damp paper towel to pick up any crumbs in the bowl.

Pros
  • Pleasing

stopped working on first try

I followed the instructions and turned on the toaster with nothing in it. 7, it got hot and I smelled burning oil, then it shut down a little quicker than I thought. So, wanted to toast your bagel, the bagel light won't come on and the toaster won't stay down, it just sends the bagel straight to the floor. I've changed the heat settings, tried again and again to turn on the donut mode but to no avail. I can't fry anything so I'm sending it back. I have a friend who has one that works fine andโ€ฆ

DO NOT use it on anything with icing or other "meltable " products!

A friend in Wyoming had one that we saw and used on a visit to Yellowstone. I thought it was so cool and different - I still think so. But now that I have it (after the death of my old toaster) I'm aware of its limitations: how much space it takes up on our crowded kitchen counter (works best when it's sitting on the side - wide); the sensitivity of the controls (preheat for a second before toasting, @ setting 3 seems to work best for English muffins) and to my surprise, NO FLUSH! The discovery

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions

Was glad to see West Bend still making this toaster

Many years ago I bought my first West Bend slide through a toaster on a whim - as it was just me and although I eat quite a bit of toast , but not immediately - I found the toaster interesting. Well I definitely like it and when my other one started to wear out I wanted another one just like that. Was very happy to see it is still available and now in steel to match my lights. The new one seems to work just as well as the old one and I especially like the fact that it fits neatly into the slotโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
