I used spring loaded shears and every third knife I had to stop because they just don't cut and hurt my hands. These Westcott Rag Cutters have helped me cut a 45" square quilt in an hour, sometimes cutting through 12 layers of material.

I made a patchwork quilt out of flannel --- cut out 6 layers (seams) to stretch the quilt. Joy! The scissors cut very easily. I posted her photo on Facebook to show my friends. I tell everyone about it. A must-have item for anyone who sews.

I bought these on a whim. I was trying to find a pair of scissors to trim the seams on my quilt and by accident I found these. Much better than the Fiskars scissors I used. I had to replace them every 2-3 quilts and the blades got so dull. Using Westcott scissors reduced trimming time significantly.

Cuts through multiple layers of fabric, leather or vinyl. Ideal for cutting heavier materials into rags. Throw away rags used for painting wood or other uses.
