The best scissors for patchwork quilts.

I used spring loaded shears and every third knife I had to stop because they just don't cut and hurt my hands. These Westcott Rag Cutters have helped me cut a 45" square quilt in an hour, sometimes cutting through 12 layers of material.

Pros
  • Quick Change
Cons
  • Some bugs

Excellent quilting scissors

I bought these on a whim. I was trying to find a pair of scissors to trim the seams on my quilt and by accident I found these. Much better than the Fiskars scissors I used. I had to replace them every 2-3 quilts and the blades got so dull. Using Westcott scissors reduced trimming time significantly.

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Style 90

Superb Fabric Scissors

I have been quilting fabric for several years and have several fabric scissors. But it's by far the best I've ever used. They are so sharp that they easily cut through several layers of fabric and cotton wool. In addition, their short blades make cutting seams almost impossible. They make the tedious task of cutting seams so much easier for me that I love doing it!

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Damaged

Rag scissors

Free! They don't stay closed. I've tried tightening the nut but it won't work. They are good at cutting multiple layers of material. They don't cut other things like paracord very well. I wanted a little pair of scissors to carry around in my art bag. This does not meet the requirements. They don't stay closed, which is dangerous when I'm looking for them in my pocket. I put them in a place where I can find them while they're in sight. The best scissors I've ever bought for all kinds of crafts…

Pros
  • That's great
Cons
  • Some bugs

Marked for heavy use such as cutting leather, vinyl but NOT metal.

Cuts through multiple layers of fabric, leather or vinyl. Ideal for cutting heavier materials into rags. Throw away rags used for painting wood or other uses. But be careful not to keep rags or paper towels in your house or apartment. They belong in a dustbin or steel drum far from your home as they tend to spontaneously ignite and cause a fire. Coming back to the scissors, I expect them to last a long time. No, they are not for fineblanking. To do this, use expensive fabric scissors. And keep…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Can't remember
