Being the owner of the entire green series from 1 to 3 TB, I was wondering if the speed on this 3 TB drive had dropped. HD tune pro showed a maximum read speed of 162 MB / s, in the end it dropped to 100, the average was 133. This is higher than 10 EADS. Access time 11.9ms. If you need a system - you can buy an SSD - their prices have now fallen. The maximum temperature under load is 30 C.

Pros
  • Like the whole green series: Silent Cold
Cons
  • I don't know about these

I am delighted, the product is really worthy.

I bought two hard drives a year and a half ago, installed it in Synology 411j, everything started up and works without any problems. A couple of months ago I bought and installed another disk. The load is small, but the NAS is always on (torrents). Numerous reviews about the problems of these hard drives are hard to discount, but your own experience also means something. In a year I plan to buy another one of the same disk. ate: after six years of operation (turned on around the clock, but…

Pros
  • Large, quiet, inexpensive (there was already such a characteristic, but it’s impossible to come up with something fundamentally new)
Cons
  • Not found

It was a reasonable purchase, I will order more.

I bought 6 pieces for home storage, they have been working for a little over a year (10k hours online), all are still alive. No extraneous noises or rattles are heard. Work in RAID5. Working temperature 36-42*С. The green line from vd is intended specifically for file storages, you should not expect speed from them, but it is best to store your library on them. Although if you buy several drives, you can create a RAID0 or 1, the read speed will increase and you can use it for games without any…

Pros
  • Price, volume, from the characteristics also energy efficiency.
Cons
  • Speed

The first disk from the Green series was bought, it seems, in 2022 with a volume of 2 TB and PTF-PTFA is still alive and there are no problems, a year later another disk from the Green series with a volume of 3 TB was bought and everything is also OK, yes there was a problem with installing 3 TB , but this is solved by the Acronix program, a utility from WD, or by changing the system (I changed to win7, I had to switch to the seven for a long time).

Pros
  • Quiet, price, reliable and does not heat up
Cons
  • There is not

I'm very happy, it really is worth buying.

Bought 4 WDC WD30EFRX-68AX9N0 drives, installed in NAS (NAS4Free) in RaidZ1 configuration, ZFS file system. They work around the clock, the temperature is 36-38 degrees. According to SMART Power_On_Hours=9270, no errors, no problems.

The perfect product for any user!

In 32-bit operating systems (including Windows XP), 3 TB is not visible, and the disk looks like a 746 GB one. In order to see 3 tera, you need to download and install a small utility called Paragon GPT Loader. Do not be afraid! Everything is done simply, the disk becomes fully accessible, although it cannot act as a boot disk. Do not forget to initialize it during installation by right-clicking on My Computer / Manage / Disk Management. Initialization must also be done in 64-bit operating…

Pros
  • I have been using the disc for almost 3 years on a daily basis! I learned that he is still on sale, I decided to write a few kind words. During the specified time, no malfunctions or even glitches were found! Other advantages: quiet operation, low heating. The speed and response time are slightly lower than those of competitors, but as a backup data storage, they are quite sufficient indicators. And, of course, a huge volume! Imagine how colossal it seemed 3 years ago! 8-)))
Cons
  • It would be a pity to throw it away due to obsolescence 8-)

Two Seagates fell down (1.5Tb - ST31500341AS and 160Gb - ST3160215AS), the first of which did not even live up to the end of its warranty (it worked 25206 hours, and the second 45488 hours), so I urgently had to look for a replacement. Bought a WD30EZRX. - With some confusion I read some of the reviews written here. My experience is below. - The disk is cold enough. Nearby were two Seagates, whose temperature was 39 and 41 degrees, this model had a maximum of 31 (the computer almost does…

Pros
  • Quiet, cold

A valuable purchase, some advantages!

in addition to four HDDs of 3 TB each, 2 TB are available (4pcs WD20EARS), they are a little older, but the operating hours are less, by the way, the speed of 2 TB is approximately 5202222% higher I can compare with old Seagates and Hitachis, which work out 25 thousand hours each and problems begin (for Seagates with electronics, for Hitachi with mechanics and overheating)

Pros
  • quiet, doesn't get hot. I have 4 pieces with airflow, the temperature does not rise above 34 g under load (26 g in the room) they spin around the clock, the operating time is about 50 thousand hours .
Cons
  • not seen.

I use several of these drives in my home server. The two oldest ones have exceeded 20 thousand hours, all indicators are normal. Recently, several of these live in hardware raid5, I don’t see any problems due to TLER - but this may depend on the controller (I use hpsa p410, it is very good for generic sata disks). from the obvious: 1) to use the entire volume, you need gpt support (for any disks > 2GB) 2) in closed cases with poor cooling, any disk lives for a long time. My temperature is…

Pros
  • quiet, cold
Cons
  • the need to set the parking timeout

I'm very happy, it really is worth buying.

Ideal for creating a home NAS due to the relatively low (at the time of purchase) price and huge volume. It is difficult to score 3 terabytes even in the current conditions. There are no problems with using the WHOLE volume. now almost all operating systems can work with GPT, some even boot from it. even win2022 pro can work with it as with a second screw, using the entire volume using GPT. Linux and *BSD have been able to work with GPT for 10 years. survivable enough. works on a home NAS…

Pros
  • runs on a NAS without a fan. does not heat up. enough speed for NAS. the price (at the time of purchase 4900) justifies completely.
Cons
  • not found.

A wonderful product, its nice to use.

I am satisfied with the purchase, but I had to spend some time to bring the hard drive to the desired state: to deal with the features of Advanced Format (affects the speed of data writing) and GPT (allows you to work with partitions larger than 2TB). Increased head parking time under Linux using idle3-tools. The section was made using parted. As a result, I got a 3TB ext4 partition with ~120MB/s write speed.

Pros
  • Quiet, cold.
Cons
  • Short head parking time, Advanced Format, GPT.

The quality exceeds all expectations, I recommend to buy.

Winchester suits me in many ways, if not in everything. I bought WD, because I trust this manufacturer, I was convinced of the quality product myself and not once. I have been actively working with the hard drive for a little over a week. So far everything is going perfect. I hope that this will continue Pros below: good volume, fast operation, almost does not heat up, responds quickly, quite quiet (I compare it with my old hard drive, also WD, but it is 6 years old this year))), yes, it makes…

Valuable purchase, nothing but pluses!

I've read a lot about disabling the head parking, that, they say, it is necessary to disable the parking or the disk will live for a year or two. Nothing turned off, it has been working for 4 and a half years. However, I use this disk for file trash, maybe that's why everything is fine. By the way, the green series was conceived for such purposes. It is better to put something faster in all network storages and under system drives, since the drive is really slow for constant exchange of…

Pros
  • - Durability - Silence - Volume - Low operating temperature
Cons
  • For a specifically chosen task did not reveal.
