Works with Asus Vivobook but may need to buy a HDD basket

I'm running multiple virtual desktops and the 500GB M.2 SSD doesn't have enough space to store the number of desktops I need. The drive was small enough to fit in a laptop, but the laptop didn't have a hard drive cage. Bought a Deal4Go SSD hard drive bracket with a SATA hard drive cable (short) and had no trouble installing it. I've only had the drive a few months so I'm not sure about the durability but for now it's working great. Will be updated over time. A bit pricey for what you get but…

WARNING - THIS DRIVE IS NO WARRANTY! NOT AT ALL !

I like WD. I've been using their discs for at least 18 years. Now I can just reset WD.? I have one of these which I received from Revain on 01/18/2020 and it is still sealed. I have to do many computer jobs at the same time to install it. Thought I'd submit it for WARRANTY TONIGHT. What is the guarantee? We have no guarantees and it will be posted here on Revain. Do we have a 5 year guarantee? I just received this from the WD warranty site and went back to check if it was active and I received…

Bad sector on new drive

Unbelievable after loading about 100GB of data onto the drive with it to edit and export about 10 photos in Lightroom only for the thing to crash. I had set up three partitions, two volumes died for some strange reason. Windows, Linux, UBCD, nothing helped. When I tried to diagnose the drive, it found that there was already a bad sector. I'll clean up the disk, repartition it to my needs and try again. If I have more problems, it will come back as a defective product. .I just can't believe this

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Big and bulky

WARNING: The WD Black 750GB and WD Black 1TB Performance Mobile reviews seem to have the same test text. So be careful, what you read may not be what you get if the reviewer wasn't more specific. This is NOT the same drive and has different specifications! I will list both here. RE: WD Black 750GB Drive - 5 Stars: I bought about 20 of these drives - some from Revain and some from my local computer store. They work well, for 3 years there has not been a single breakdown. A server has 10 of them…

Excellent Value for These Hard Drives WD Black

Update 8-7-19: I went to the WD website to register my two drives. They are not covered by the WD warranty, presumably because they were purchased through a reseller. just so you know I use them as primary storage (and backup storage) for our MacBook Air laptop. Most MacBooks now ship with SSDs, which are memory chip-based drives rather than physical spinning disks. They're a lot more expensive than traditional physical drives, so the largest SSD we could get with our 2017 MacBook Air was…

What a mess! fits computers and accessories

TL;DR: DO NOT BUY 500GB DISC FROM ANY SELLER BUT AMAZON. I bought one of these drives from Vendor "A" and received a drive with only one year of manufacturer warranty left (Figure 1). SMART status was questionable (Figure 2). The disc was visibly/physically worn. I figured they might have accidentally sent me a used drive, so I ordered a replacement drive and sent the first drive back. The second disc came from Seller "A" with no Western Digital warranty whatsoever (Figure 4). The WD website…

Fast, Reliable, Cool

Whenever one of my friends or family members needs a laptop, they usually ask me to find something for them. This is the hard drive I almost always choose. The computer I am writing this review on is equipped with a WD7500BPKX. I give this hard drive 5 stars, but actually I would like to give it a 4.9. While the drive is near-perfect, it lacks one area: noise. More on that later. I haven't worked with WD since the ATA Scorpio days, but a few years ago I found this drive on the Passmark charts…
