Unbelievable after loading about 100GB of data onto the drive with it to edit and export about 10 photos in Lightroom only for the thing to crash. I had set up three partitions, two volumes died for some strange reason. Windows, Linux, UBCD, nothing helped. When I tried to diagnose the drive, it found that there was already a bad sector. I'll clean up the disk, repartition it to my needs and try again. If I have more problems, it will come back as a defective product. .I just can't believe this is a WD product. A dog used to walk past me and tripped over the cable from an external hard drive. This disk (8 years ago) fell on the carpet and died. I lost all the photos I digitized from my childhood, adolescence and early adulthood. Believe me, I know how to handle these things (cleanly and preferably never while they're on). end of discourse. I bought this through an original OEM dealer - they themselves offer a 5 year warranty (according to the sticker they put on the drive itself). I'm marking it just in case anyone else has problems.
