👣 Convenient Westin 27-1675 Running Board Mounting Kit for Easy Installation Review

Mechanics installing footpegs had difficulty installing this kit. They said the instructions weren't very helpful and it took longer than usual to complete the installation.

This is a footpeg installation kit that we installed on our 2006 Ford Explorer. We covered the boards in another review. I'm not sure what else to say other than they worked, fit well and were easy to install. It's not a Mona Lisa or a fancy car radio. It's a piece of metal shaped to fit a specific truck, and it does it well. That's all.

Staples are strong and really good quality but self tapping screws are useless. Save yourself the headache and if you have a car that needs self tapping screws, just go to Ace and buy them. The ones in the pack are gold, which makes you think they're 8th grade, but they won't make it through the 2008 Expedition. I bought a class 5 self tapping screw the same size (5/16k) and it took less than 20 minutes to install with an air wrench.

I bought this for my 2008 Mountaineer, it works but I think Ford reworked the Mountaineers chassis for 08 because of something getting in the way. Also check the correct application on the Westin website. Revain tried to suggest that the Mountaineer 02-04 mounts would fit my truck, but Westin provided a different number for my request.
