This was an exact replacement for the original shade and matched the lamp perfectly. Price? Spring. Approximately $3.00 less than purchasing the entire fixture. I would say the price was expensive.

This fits perfectly with a 60 year old ceiling light that I banged a bullet out of when changing the bulb. Couldn't be happier! My mount has no screws holding the globe in place. This is the snap type. I saved money to replace the light and possibly hire an electrician to do the installation.

Attaches directly to my existing 6" mount, no problem. My only minor complaint would be that the shade dims the light a little more than I would like. I may need to up the wattage to compensate, but I appreciate getting a quick and inexpensive solution to replacing an old broken glass lampshade that doesn't require replacing the entire fixture.

When I took it out of the box I was a bit surprised, very small and light. I quickly measured the fit (I was ticked). Not sure if it's less than 5 1/2 or not, but I did a lot of mounting screws or tightened them before tightening, also pulled on the "globe", and looked more like a too small turtleneck sweater. But when turned on everything looks normal - looks pretty good. That's what he should do, look pretty. Although if it was a good size it would look better.

Not much to say about this item but it is worth noting that the quality matches the price. I've bought others that were so fragile they broke trying to install them. It's a good weight and thickness that feels, looks and actually offers solid durability. In addition, the light passes through the glass with ease, so your room is well lit and you don't have to worry about it breaking when you're cleaning it, bumping into something, or anything else that can use a little light. A hit.

Exactly what I needed and installed in seconds.
