We tried this and it doesn't work. Not enough pressure to keep the bottle closed. Find one that fits the neck of the bottle, then attach it to the neck instead of just sitting on it.

I had a pair of (very expensive) metal stoppers from the same German company. They work well but tower high above the bottle and are awkward to put in the fridge. This plastic version is compact and cheap enough that I don't mind swapping out if needed. I bought five of these to give some away.
