Effective and easy to use for pitting Castelveltrano olives.

I don't usually write reviews but I think this product is fantastic. Castelveltrano is an effective contrast to this. The olives are not crushed and the pits are not torn out. Looks like it was made in a factory. Very happy with Petra.

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • Makes me angry

Great tool: Stoner

I bought this stoner to replace another stoner that used to crush olives heavily to remove the pits. On the contrary, this device is a revelation. The pits come out clean and smooth, leaving an intact olive. I mainly use it on standard sized manzanilla green olives so I can't confirm its performance on large olives. Worth the price!

Pros
  • Nice item
Cons
  • Only available in white

Cannot handle large olives

I bought this hoping it could handle large olives as one review states. The Serignola olives I tried on didn't even fit between the jaws. This device is too small for really large olives. Smaller Cerignola olives that fit required excessive force on the handles and the pits barely fit through the hole. It might be fine for small olives, but it didn't do the job I bought it for.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • For seniors

Durable cookware, easy to use

Who knew I needed another kitchen helper? But after tearing my fingers trying to pick a batch of olives for a recipe, I went online and figured there must be a better way. I chose this model because it looked solid and simple and was advertised specifically for olives as I already have a cherry pit scoop (I've hurt my fingers with olives). This dish lived up to my expectations and I poured in the olive pits leaving all the fingers intact. It has found its place in my "Useful Utensils" drawer.

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • There are even more interesting options.

Was pleasantly surprised

I wasn't sure they would hold up. I was looking for a stoner who produces olives. Most say "cherry" or both. Cherries are much easier to pit than olives, so starch must have been an important factor. I took about a gallon of green olives to "test" this product and was very pleasantly surprised. Despite being fairly light (made of aluminum), it's surprisingly strong. I beat the game in about 20 minutes. The only issue I had was that if the olive was a bit small, it took an extra second or so to…

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • No form required

Too big hole. Not for small olives

I bought this because the specs in the description said "special bowl for big and small olives" they didn't say it's NOT TRUE FOR THE HOLE! I have "trillion" small salted olives off my tree and this has been a big deal for me (and for anyone who deals with smaller olives). LOTS of "meat" or "meat" around it and with a bit of olive, meaning a very thin layer of meat is left in the bowl. It's fine to leave the cap on the top and/or bottom of the bone, I've had other bones and that's fine, but…

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • is embarrassing
