Great quality from Whiteside. I find the lower bearing easier to control than the upper bearing. The reason for this is that if the router tips over due to user error and half of the base is hanging in empty space, the bottom bearing will cause the entire router to tip *away* from the work. The exact opposite happens with the upper bearing, where any inclination will cause the blade to cut into your work. For better upper bearing control, a base extension is best.
I have made Adirondack chairs with this piece. Sounds good, but I killed him in two days. The bearing seized up after a few hours (fortunately I still have spares). But when I ran it through 1.5" old pine (so hardwood, not the cork you get in orange and blue shops), it burned out in two sessions, even when running at the lowest speed on my router. Would I buy it again Yes I would buy a larger one as it was barely big enough for the tree I was working with but for the price I can afford to useβ¦
Whiteside! White side! White side! please never go away I don't know what I would do lol. I love these Whiteside cutters and have a collection of them. Every time I buy one I realize how much I love these beats. I have other cutters like Freud which are great, Amana, Infinity and some CMT cutters but most of my cutters are white. I must say. A lot of people love CMT bits, but I personally don't like them. Definitely the Whiteside beats are my favorite because they are just top notch. They areβ¦
