these are good cutters, cost more than many other cutters but they are very accurate, carbide lasts a long time, improves the quality of the joinery.

I like to use sliding dovetails for some connections and I used to use a 12mm dovetail cutter on an 8mm chuck I bought in Germany almost 30 years ago. but this particular 1/2" Whiteside bit was much more comfortable to use, although I don't know the exact reason, but the sense of security and performance was much better than my previous bit. This milling cutter looked sketchy at first. I tried cutting through 4" cedar bolts to connect the sides and it sounded like it was stuck and it was tough. Well it was my stupid mistake because the bit came loose in the router (I had it in the router chart). I put on the bit holder and voila. It is sharp and cuts through both soft and hard wood like a hot knife through room temperature oil. Whiteside is one of the best cutting plotter manufacturers and it shows. It's definitely worth the money…
