you will go crazy

Nice fit. Installation requires a lot of patience and eyestrain when transcribing small, low-resolution black and white photos. It took me several hours to grind my teeth and swear.

Kayak Game Changes Hardware

I have a tsunami 165 I use it for multi day trips I used to use duct tape on day 2 or 3 when my back was killing me but this bad boy changed the game and I am it all i can still use is my spray skirt also i have changed the seat base on my dagger stratos which are very easy to install as they are made by the same company but have a great range of motion worth every penny .

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons

Extremely confusing directions

I would never have fitted this seat if it wasn't for You Tube. Directions are not good. Not really good, like a missing step or something. Once I got it set up and aligned properly, everything went fine. It's much more comfortable than my old seat and the backrest fits right over my life jacket. I look forward to being back on the water.

Pros
  • Hands-free control

Great update and not at all as difficult as it seems.

Did a little research and bought this as an upgrade for my old Wilderness Systems Tarpon 120 seat. The seat was very low on my back and just hard plastic. After reading the reviews I was concerned, many people said it was difficult to assemble. I didn't find the pictures in the instructions true, but if you ignore them and just read word for word it should be easy enough. Very excited to give this piece a whirlwind on my next outing. BTW, in case anyone is wondering, this will fit a 120 tarpon…

Seat back Wilderness Phase 3

Perfect fit (for Air Pro and some Phase 3 seats) very supportive! I prefer to remove the two "locking tabs" that prevent the backrest from lowering fully. Offers much better support, especially when paddling (does not affect normal/correct operation. NOTE: Wildlife has changed the color scheme from black to gray with an orange border. Despite the picture, you will receive the current color scheme of gray with an orange border. Instructions are included really bad (customer service is worse, but

Great Back - Terrible Instructions

Pros: Once installed, the back is great. Adjustable. Offers great support. This is an essential addition to your kayak. Cons: Directions are terrible. The black and white copy in the box is confusing and the photos are too small. There's a PDF version online and the photos are better in color and enlarged, but they're still large thumbnails at best. It took me about 45 minutes to assemble and properly install the backrest. Once I figured that out, I could easily set up the next one in 10…

Great quality seat/terrible installation instructions

I just bought this seat back to replace a broken seat in my old perception which luckily used the same type of seating system. The seat sits higher than my original one and I was looking for something firmer to offer better lumbar support, which it does. The question is only in the installation instructions. Everything went smoothly until I got to steps 12-14. I went online but unfortunately there is no video. Eventually I figured it out and wanted to share it in case it helps someone else. So…

The instructions that came with it are terrible

I just bought a used 2007 Tsunami 145 kayak. The seat was in poor condition. In fact, the seat back and spine were in very bad shape. First I tried to see if I couldn't just buy a whole new seat and replace it entirely. NO! Looks like Wilderness Systems won't sell you the whole place. Replacement parts must be purchased individually. I'm not sure what genius came up with this as a client strategy, but that alone is a huge failure. You need to search and find spare parts wherever you can find…

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
