Good soft jaws but crack

Good soft jaws but shipped without instructions. I heated the jaws and tapped them lightly to press them against my vise, but one of them still cracked. I used a propane torch to preheat. Do this slowly, using light taps of a hammer to fit in the vise.

Pros
  • Vise
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Does the job, doesn't damage any parts

Store-bought sponges for small fittings of various materials. This allows me to tighten the vise without leaving marks on the workpieces while still holding them. I gave it 4 stars because one of the straps holding the vise jaws to the vise partially snapped during flexing, even when heated to give more ductility. However, this did not detract from the intended purpose of the jaws.

Pros
  • Tools and household items
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Expensive but worth it!

I know it's very expensive for a few bits of copper that you attach to the vise jaws, but I have to admit they are exceptional quality. They're thick and heavy, once you tap the "tails" to adjust them to the vise body they don't fall out, although they come loose easily if you have to use steel jaws, and they'll probably outlive me. Many years ago I made a makeshift pair of copper sponges out of a piece of old copper pipe and they worked fine, but they are genuine and in my opinion well worth…

Pros
  • Hand tool
Cons
  • Only available in black
