Although the ruler and jaws are made of stainless steel, to say that the plastic part of the LCD is very poorly made is an understatement. The wheel (which is attached with a tiny plastic hook) broke after two measurements and the battery compartment can no longer be closed. I bought the exact same caliper in April 2016 and it worked perfectly until last week. Somewhere over 3 inches it suddenly started reading 60+ inches. I decided I got my money's worth and looked for a replacement. Pictures in inches are wrong; It reads up to thousandths with a tiny space or 5, so they should show an extra digit and a half.
