Arrived with a very strong chemical smell. I washed it twice and the smell is still there. I bought them to embroider and they turned out well, but I find them a bit flimsy. I would prefer something more stable. They also dropped a ton of fiber/lint to keep the search going.

Bought these hats as a gift but was disappointed when one had a rather large hole. I now take my hat off to a Christmas present. Otherwise the hats are great. Lots of stretch and feels warm. I bought 12 ribbed hats and they are very good. Colors and assortment are exactly the same as in the photo. The fabric is of medium density, and when folded (as in the photo), twice the thickness should warm the ears and not get blown through by the wind. I was specifically looking for a gray hat but unfortunately the gray hats in the 12 piece ribbed set look more like mélange charcoal (more black than grey). Still useful but not what I was looking for. They fit snugly around the head and provide extra room to hang around if you play around with them a bit, although they don't look as pretty as real slouch hats. I liked how much you get for such a price. I didn't wear them much, nor outside when it was very cold because it would be really cold below 20 Fahrenheit indoors. But as far as I can tell they are not that thick and are made from a single layer of material, cotton I believe.
