I wear size XL because I'm 5'7" (and curvy). I thought I was a size up, I usually take L, but this swimsuit was sooo small. It fits like an M - when I put it on the cups were mostly on my stomach hahaha. Cups can be C and I'm 38DD or 36DDD. I knew it wouldn't cover the bust completely but I think the cup size should be bigger for XL. I focused on my hand - the cup basically covered my palm.
