I purchased this item to warm seed starter trays. This is the perfect size for 4 small starter trays (each tray holds 6 1" cubes of rockwool). The heat can be regulated simply by turning the knob. The heating mat is waterproof, so a few accidental drops of water won't damage it. I've had it up and running for a few days now and it's great. There are no problems with hotspots. This made it much easier to grow plants for my hydroponic garden during the colder months.
