WYMECT Charger Socket Waterproof Outlet Review

I've bought several of these over the years. I'm very happy with the performance of the product but a little disappointed that I can't turn off the blue backlight as it can be too bright at night.

I bought these to fit my five wheel trailer. Installation was easy, but for some reason one of them didn't charge my Apple devices. I contacted the company and they responded quickly and sent a replacement.

This is a great replacement for the cigarette lighter in my cars. I have replaced 2 different vehicles and have had no problems since installing (July 2020). My only complaint is that the outlet is slightly larger than a traditional outlet. I ended up drilling out the original socket to make it larger to fit the new socket. The drill has been hidden by the larger surface area of the new socket, but it's not perfect yet.

This unit was one of the cheapest on Revain and I needed 2 units to get it working great. I have used them to install 2 DVRs in each of my cars and my wife's car. If you look at my attached photos you will see that your van has these USB holders. They are terrible I know! If you remove the old ones you will find that they are connected to a larger/thicker set of (in my case) white wires. The sockets are excellent, they work perfectly, but the wiring in the kit is cheap, flimsy and short. I had a lot of 16ga copper wire so I decided to use that. Installation was easy. Drill hole, insert socket, screw on locking ring, connect cable. Enjoy. Easy installation, but one of the two is not compatible with charging now. I have to move it a bit to get the connection. The blue light is insanely bright too. If you put this in an RV/van near where you sleep, you might reconsider. I take them out and replace them with those that have no light. They probably wouldn't have bothered if they hadn't also become inconsistent, but two problems together are too many.

I really like this socket. I installed it next to my bed but the light was too bright for me when trying to charge a device. The rubber cover blocks most of the light, but I wanted it to charge my phone at night. My fix for those bright LEDs was to remove the bezel (with pliers), break the LEDs with a leather punch (by flicking them with the tip), and then JB welded the bezel back on. Excellent! My iPhone 8 works fine with this 12V outlet (unlike the other 12V AC outlet I have)

This is exactly what I was looking for. I had to replace a similar socket in a caravan with an integrated display. The problem is that the display is always on, which not only causes low battery drain, but also constantly emits a lot of light. These have no problem. Firstly they don't have a display and secondly the attached lid/cap perfectly covers any light coming out of the socket.
