While working with several CM15A.

I have a large complex house (600 amp power, 11 switchboards). I have most X10 signals with multiple transceivers (several for each house code A, B, C - I also have bridges and repeaters on each of the 3 main services). A switch could not be activated easily, so this second CM15A with house code P is used to send a macro for codes A and B. I just set up a separate file on AHP and plugged the USB into it, programmed it and just plugged it into the AC outlet near the complex switch on the same…

Pros
  • This is amazing

The CM15A can wear out over time and will need to be replaced.

I have been using the X-10 home automation system for over 20 years. The interface became unstable a few years ago. Replacing the CM15A fixed these issues. I'm a little disappointed that the CM15A has faded over time, but pleasantly surprised that the new unit solved my problems.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • There are some nuances

A must for any serious home automation project X10

If you are going to choose the X10 for your home then this is the one for you. Works great, very reliable. One of the main functions is the remapping of each X10 signal to another signal, which is very useful when using multiple switches and remote controls or when one X10 switch controls multiple elements with different codes. You can also easily program complex if-then scenarios and even use variables to manage states. (For example, if I send the code O9, check the box so the ambient lights…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Good. Software works well

Bought to replace some old Radio Shack controllers. Good. The software works perfectly. Who cares if there is a registration screen. The software is fully functional. Nice that my outdoor lighting and fountain are automated again. Thank you!

Pros
  • Nice touches
Cons
  • Little things

Two out of two defective

I bought this as a backup for my one working CM15A. The first module worked, but the macros didn't work reliably. The second block was completely inoperable. Loaded the same program but neither manual nor macros worked. It must be a bad batch. I got my money back and will order a used one from ebay.

  • Price
Cons
  • Not the best

I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

I originally purchased this unit in the early 2000's. RF eventually stopped working. I didn't want to suffer and spend money to replace all my gear with something else, so I decided to buy something else. Looks pretty much the same except the antenna isn't cheap plastic like the picture shows (and mine is original). This is a beautiful metal telescopic antenna. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Some errors
