my old friend on Blank Media

is what analog multitrack radios were supposed to have in the 1990s. I used these tapes in my 4 track Tascam recorder and people thought my tapes were all digital. Now that everything is digital all I had to do was go back and get those cassettes so I might be itching to go back to analog from time to time. Came in great condition and the seller even added one more.

Pros
  • A Sea of Positive Emotions
Cons
  • Upgradable

Cassettes not only for nostalgic collections

I bought it for 4-track recording. The tapes are of good quality and well suited to the task. Cassette tapes still have a place in the recording world, despite all the software plug-in emulations. The physical tape still has properties that algorithms cannot model convincingly to the discerning ear.

Pros
  • Robust design
Cons
  • Long waiting time

TELL THEM WHAT I THINK ABOUT THE 90 MINUTE MAXELL BANDS

MAXELL BANDS ARE REALLY GOOD SOUNDING BANDS. I MAKE MY OWN WEBS FROM MY OLD LPs AND LISTEN TO THEM ON THE STREET. 90 MINTAPE WILL CONTINUE YOU FOR A FEW MILES ON THE ROAD. I NEVER HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THIS PLANK.

Pros
  • I hold my fists
Cons
  • String is shorter than other picks

I like to record a few records on it for .

There are many ways to use them and you can't beat their sound. I like to record some records to get a different sound and to save the record also record with XM radio to mix different music and enhance the sound of the radio. I also like leveling the db a bit. I have a high quality ONKYO recording cassette deck that can record any tape, I've used regular URs but I'll stick with it from now on, the sound is much better.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Factor Set

The gold standard for blank media

This product and length is the gold standard for home cassette recording. The sound is much "warmer" than CDs and there is less hiss if you buy quality equipment and keep it clean. I found that I could listen to music longer on these cassettes than on CDs. The 90-minute duration is reliable and designed for many, many repetitions. Avoid the 110 minute and 120 minute lengths of this product as the tape is thinner and the lifespan of these longer lengths is significantly shorter.

Pros
  • Like everything before
Cons
  • Too long to wait

Outperforms Maxell UR cassettes

They outperform the more common (and much cheaper) regular offset UR cassettes. I use cassettes to record a few radio shows and the cheaper URs only lasted a few records before they started stretching and distorting the record. These XLIIs are obviously better straight out of the box, better plastic for the cartridge itself (and for the body too). The audio recordings so far have been of excellent quality, I expect to be able to use them for several years.

Pros
  • Low noise and high output for quality music recording
Cons
  • A newer model could have been chosen

Seems ok but not as pictured

Haven't tested the ribbons but don't expect any problems. All five bands are individually sealed and appear to be legal, with "Mexico Assembled" written on the packaging. The seller was "Morgans_Merchandise". The package was not a Maxell factory 5 pack as shown in the picture but 5 new sealed tapes repackaged in clear plastic by the seller. Four fit below in the image showing the fronts and one matched the above. believe it was a time when these Maxell XLII tapes weren't the same quality as…

Pros
  • Excellent medium performance ribbon
Cons
  • Out of style
